Teaching English in Nepal( Chynagba Village)

 A Shree wongchu school is public school in Chyangba village. Only for students from 5 to 15 year. There is more then 200 students but only 3 teachers teach for 200 students and there is no English teacher. English does not form part of the primary school curriculum in public school. Many poor kids can not afford private English education and go on to higher schools with little knowledge of Basic English. You role as a volunteer can make a difference in these children's lives, many who dream of speaking English.  

Skill/Qualification

Though no teaching experience or skill is needed, volunteers joining the teaching program in Nepal should have good English, both written and verbal. You should have passion and love for teaching, English and conversation.

Volunteers responsibilities

Volunteers for  teaching English in chyangba village school mostly teach conversational English (4-5 hours a day) in School. Saturday being the day off. Most of the students of the school are between the ages of 5 and 15. Volunteers will be assisted by Nepali teachers of the school. The teachers will teach you Nepali language In your free time, you can organize games, drawing, singing, dancing, and other creative education and extra curricular activities. Volunteers help is also expected to take kids on educational tours, helping them with homework, to monitor academic progress, and in administration.

Room/Food

Sherpa Adventure Travel arranges room, food, and supervision for volunteers from the start to the end of program. During first week of language and cultural program, volunteers stay with host family in Kathmandu.

During teaching in school, volunteers will stay in with host family in chyangba village. You will be staying near to the school. Host families will offer a separate room but you will share bath room and rest room with host family. You can find the details of arrangement for room/food in placement sheets provided you.
After you down with the volunteer Sherpa Adventure International will take to Mt. Everest Base Camp for 16 days trek. You will gat a chance to touch world height mountain by your self in your lifetime.
