Jomsom is in the upper Kali Gandaki valley at the elevation of 2713 m. it is also known as Dzongsam or New Fort. The chaotic view of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Mt. Nilgiri is attractive. Jomsom area is not only the most popular trekking destination in Nepal but also the access to Upper Mustang and Muktinath shrine, the important pilgrimage place for both Buddhists and Hindus.
Besides natural beauty and snowcapped mountain, amazingly Nepal is a paradise for religion and religiousness visit. Muktinath (provider of salvation) is a most colorful pilgrimage site dedicated to the lord Bishnu. Jwala Devi temple near by contains a spring and eternal holy flame fed by natural gas spewing out of the ground.
Trek starts from Nayapul toward Tirkedhunga and lead to the Muktinath from Jomsom. We pass and cross different places enchanting with Annapurna Mountain range. We go to Throng Pass from Kagbeni and back to Muktinath. Then we fly to Pokhara from Jomsom and reach to Kathmandu by another flight.
